A form of tsurane (poetic monologue) split among multiple actors who deliver it in sequence. The most famous example is the lineup scene at Inasegawa in Shiranami Gonin Otoko, where five thieves introduce themselves one by one. The rhythmic relay is considered one of kabuki's greatest scenes.
